Quartararo regains the advantage, Ducati unveils its latest invention

fabio quartararo was, after all, the fastest of the opening day on the Silverstone circuit. The world champion, who took advantage of the two free practice sessions to learn how to best negotiate the Long Lap, is the only one to have gone below the 1'59 mark with a time of 1'58.946 achieved at the very end of the race. session.

The Frenchman was a little less than two tenths ahead of Joan Mir, Maverick Viñales and Johann Zarco, leader of the morning despite a fall. 

Aleix Espargaro completed the Top 5 ahead of the first KTM in the hierarchy, that of Miguel Oliveira. Alex Rins placed the second Suzuki in seventh place ahead of Enea Bastianini who revealed a seat backrest fitted with fins, the latest novelty from the Ducati factory. 

Having made a mistake during the session, Jack Miller took the ninth fastest time ahead of Marco Bezzecchi. Francesco Bagnaia is not currently among the top ten and will have to work harder in FP3 to avoid going through the repechage, just like Jorge Martin, ranked 13th.e, or even Pol Espargaro, 16e.
