Quartararo wins for the fifth time of the season at Silverstone

fabio quartararo was clearly above the rest during the British GP race. After a cautious start, the Frenchman gradually moved up the hierarchy to take control from Pol Espargaro, author of pole position. 

He then set a pace that no one could follow, putting almost six tenths behind the chasing group on each lap. Once sheltered, the Yamaha rider, wearing a soft at the front and a medium at the rear, maintained a comfortable lead to head straight towards the eighth success of his career in MotoGP. 

Behind him, it was Alex Rins who climbed to the second step of the podium. The Spaniard, who started from the fourth row on the grid, took his troubles patiently, overtaking his opponents one by one. Although he stumbled a bit on Aleix Espargaro's Aprilia RS-GP, he was able to overtake him to score his first Top 3 since the European GP last year. 

After a neck-and-neck duel on the final lap with Jack Miller, Aleix Espargaro finally snatched third position, giving Aprilia its first premier class podium since the 2000 British GP. 

Miller placed the first Ducati in fourth place ahead of the Honda of Pol Espargaro and the KTM of Brad Binder, winner in Austria. 

Very bad operation for Joan Mir, Johann Zarco and Francesco Bagnaia in the championship since they finished ninth, 11th and 14th respectively. After the 12th meeting of the calendar, Quartararo is now 65 points ahead of Mir... a rather comfortable lead in the quest for a first French title in the premier category of motorcycle Grands Prix.
