Raul Fernandez keeps his handlebars at Trackhouse Racing

Raul Fernandez extends contract with Trackhouse Racing - Trackhouse Racing

Active member of the Trackhouse project MotoGP since day one, Raul Fernandez will continue his adventure with the American team. While the Aprilia satellite team had not yet formalized any of its drivers for the next campaign, it has just announced that Raul Fernandez would be part of its line-up.

The agreement provides for a two-year multi-year contract, which will therefore extend until December 31, 2026, and that the Spaniard will be equipped like a factory team driver.

In fact, Raul Fernandez will already be fighting on equal terms with Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Vinales from the next round of the world championship at Silverstone, and for the rest of the season, since the RS-GP24 will be supplied to him in Great Britain.

“I’m super happy to stay with TrackhouseRacing MotoGP. That's all we wanted. This new project, with Justin and Davide, is great and they have built a very good team, rejoices the main person concerned. I'm excited to hear their plans for the future because they have a clear idea of what they want to do. It was my priority to try to stay in the team.

I'm getting ready to discover my new motorcycle. It's not easy to do it in the middle of the year, but I have to make good use of it. We have to stay calm and start working on next season. We will share the same ideas and the same ambitions. I firmly believe in Davide and his abilities to create a great team. »

Fernandez, but not Oliveira: A possibility for Roberts?

An enthusiasm shared by Davide Brivio, team director. “We are happy to sign Raul for the next two years. Having seen him at work over the past few months, we appreciated his talent. I feel like he's changed his approach to racing. He is ready to make the effort to improve, to solve problems. It's always positive. This is something we have enjoyed and it will be very important that it continues. With 3 years of experience in MotoGP and knowledge of the latest Aprilia specification from Silverstone until the end of the season, he will be ready for the next two years. »

An announcement which more than likely confirms the rumor that Miguel Oliveira will leave the Nashville team at the end of the season. The Portuguese is in fact strongly anticipated at Pramac Racing, to lead the project of the Yamaha satellite team.

A transfer which could make it easier for Trackhouse Racing to formalize the promotion of Joe Roberts to MotoGP. A serious contender for the Moto2 title, the American would fulfill the team's desire to sign a rider of the same nationality.
