KTM's season is launched! Despite the group's critical financial situation, leading to fears of the worst for the future of its program MotoGP, the Austrian team has unveiled the four 16 RC2025s that will defend its colours in 2025. Yes, there will be four of them and not two, because the rapprochement is notable between Hervé Poncharal's Tech3 team and the official structure.
The French team has abandoned its identity to stick to that of KTM: the bikes of the four riders are almost identical. In the factory team, Brad Binder keeps his place and welcomes Pedro Acosta alongside him, replacing Jack Miller. The Spaniard impressed for his first season in the premier class in 2024 by finishing 6th with five podiums.
The Shark of Mazarrón will be the big attraction on the KTM side, as will the Tech3 duo, who don't really have the CV for a satellite team. In 2023, Maverick Viñales (Aprilia) and Enea Bastianini (Ducati) were both factory riders, but they made the choice to join Tech3 knowing that they would have the same equipment as Pedro Acosta and Brad Binder. In its communication, KTM presents its four riders on an equal footing, calling them the "the strongest quartet in [their] history."

"The strongest quartet in KTM history"
With four world champions, including three MotoGP Grand Prix winners (Binder, Bastianini, Viñales), KTM is indeed coming forward with a very strong line-up, which promises great things. The Austrians could have a hard time putting an end to Ducati's dominance, but second place in the constructors' standings is once again an achievable goal. The Austrians will face Aprilia, strengthened this winter by the arrival of reigning world champion Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi.
“There have been many questions, but we have been clear since the last day of the 2024 season: we are here to race and we are very serious about success in this fantastic championship.” assures Pit Beirer, the president of KTM Motorsports. “2025 has started strong for us with the important win at the Dakar and also in AMA Supercross, it is now a real pleasure to present our MotoGP teams and see our bike ready to race for the ninth consecutive year. Racing is such an important part of KTM’s DNA and we are committed to the upcoming season and with Brad, Pedro, Enea and Maverick and all the experience and knowledge in the pits there is a lot of positivity and adrenaline to start with. This could be a huge season for us, and I hope it will be.”
The KTM and Tech3 riders will be on track for the first time from February 5th to 7th in Sepang (Malaysia) for the first tests of the year, before a second round of tests in Thailand (February 12th -13th). The Buriram circuit will also host the first Grand Prix of the season in Thailand (March 2nd).
