RNF Aprilia finally complete at Mugello?

Miguel Oliveira and Raúl Fernández are ready to get back behind the bars of their Aprilias for this weekend's Italian Grand Prix. After his crash at the Spanish GP, Oliveira had to undergo five weeks of convalescence to recover from his shoulder injury and, although he does not yet consider himself to be at 100% of his abilities, the Portuguese star wants get back on the track at Mugello.

For his part, Raúl Fernández underwent surgery for compartment syndrome after the Spanish GP. He had tried to ride at the French GP but had to give up after a few laps and took advantage of the three-week break to get back into shape. 

Miguel Oliveira and Raúl Fernández will of course have to pass the traditional medical examination at the circuit this Thursday in order to obtain the green light to get on their Aprilias during the first practice session on Friday morning.

Miguel Oliveira: “I’m really looking forward to going to Mugello. For now, the biggest question is how I will be able to physically manage such a difficult circuit on the handlebars of a MotoGP. In the last few days I have felt an improvement so I hope that will be enough to be competitive, that is the main objective. I know I need more experience with the Aprilia and more races but right now the priority is to come back strong and 100%. I'm going to go to Mugello with this idea in mind and I hope we can make it a good weekend. I can't wait to see the whole team again. »

Raúl Fernández: “I’m really happy to be back at Mugello. We had three weekends off, which was good for my arm. I had time to recover and prepare physically. This weekend I don't expect anything special, we have to see how my arm works first. If all goes well, we will try to do our best while having fun, which is my main goal. I'm curious to see if the arm will give me problems after these first four tricky rounds. »
