RNF releases Yamaha for Aprilia from 2023

It was only a matter of time before the RNF team, ex-Petronas, announced its signing with Aprilia. This Friday, May 27, at the start of the first free practice session of the Italian GP, Razlan Razali's structure formalized this collaboration to field RS-GPs over the next two seasons.

If the origin of this signature is first of all to allow RNF to become Aprilia's development structure and to give young drivers a foot in the door, joining the ranks of Aprilia is obviously less expensive.

“We are absolutely delighted with this long-term partnership with Aprilia Racing,” said the Malaysian. Our philosophy remains to cooperate with the factory team to train riders who will one day become Aprilia factory riders. We will help them in their development to ensure we continue to be competitive and ultimately win with Aprilia Racing. Aprilia Racing's proposal responds to our long-term plans, our strategies and our guarantee for the next two years, and I must thank Massimo for his trust and faith in us. »

And Massimo Rivola, boss of Aprilia Racing, added: “I am happy to announce this agreement with RNF Racing. We have always taken small steps and as we demonstrate the competitiveness of our RS-GP, a natural step in the journey is to see two more on track. »

Only two Yamahas currently appear on the MotoGP grid for 2023 and with the withdrawal of Suzuki, these are the only two inline-four machines.
