#TheDecider: Bagnaia vs Quartararo duel in Valencia

Since the advent of MotoGP in 2002, it had only happened four times that the title was decided during the season finale: 2006 (between Nicky Hayden and Valentino Rossi), 2013 (between Marc Marquez and Jorge Lorenzo), 2015 (between Lorenzo and Rossi) and in 2017 (between Marquez and Andrea Dovizioso).

Only in 2006 and 2015, the second overall managed to regain the advantage to take the crown. Statistically, it's 50/50 for fabio quartararo against Francesco Bagnaia, but the Frenchman will have to make up for a deficit of 23 points, which is nothing comparable with Hayden in 2006 (8 points) and Lorenzo (7 points).

But there is still a possibility. To maintain his place on the throne, Quartararo must win and hope that Bagnaia finishes beyond 14th position. Even if the task looks complicated, the probabilities are not zero. And then, of the 11 victories of Nice, 4 (nearly 1/3) were recorded while Bagnaia fell or was the victim of a technical problem: Andalusia/2020, Italy/2021, Catalonia/2022 and Germany/ 2022.

For his part, Bagnaia just needs to appear in the Top 14 to pocket the title. He can even afford to fail as long as Quartararo does not win.

In any case, this Franco-Italian duel promises to be thrilling. See you next Sunday to find out the outcome of #TheDecider.
