Viñales absent from the GP of the Americas

Dean Berta Viñales, cousin of Maverick Viñales, tragically lost his life during the World Supersport 300 championship meeting in Jerez last Saturday. As a result, the Aprilia team rider, who did not have enough time to recover from this disappearance, will not compete in the next GP of the Americas.

The press release specifies that this decision was taken with the full and unconditional support of the Noale factory. Although it is not mentioned, it seems rather obvious that Viñales will not be replaced by Lorenzo Savadori, still recovering from an injury sustained in Austria.

Please note that a minute of silence will be observed on the pit lane of the Circuit of the Americas this Thursday at 16:15 p.m. (local time).
