Zarco on pole position at Silverstone, Quartararo fourth

For the second time this season with Portugal, Johann Zarco was the best in the qualifying game. The Frenchman clocked 1'57.767 to set a new record at Silverstone. On the front row, he will be accompanied by Maverick Viñales who qualified on the front row for the first time riding an Aprilia, and another Ducati, that of Jack Miller.

fabio quartararo, who will have to observe a Long Lap on Sunday, took the fourth time, a little less than two tenths behind his compatriot. Francesco Bagnaia inherited fifth place ahead of a surprising Aleix Espargaro. The Catalan, victim of a heavy fall in FP4, managed to get back on the track to claim sixth fastest time.

Marco Bezzecchi and Enea Bastianini, both past Q1, will start from seventh and eighth position ahead of two other Desmosedici, those of Jorge Martin and Luca Marini.

Alex Rins, winner here in 2019, and his teammate Joan Mir will complete the fourth row on the grid.

Among the losers of the day, we can cite the Honda. In pole position in 9 of the 11 qualifications at Silverstone... today no representative of the Japanese manufacturer is among the first 16.
