Friday evening, Johann Zarco admitted having to find two or three things to drive faster on the Bugatti circuit in Le Mans... and this morning, the Frenchman clearly made the difference in his last flying lap with a lap in 1'30.537, beating closely by six tenths the record set by Enea Bastianini yesterday.
Francesco Bagnaia inherits the second fastest time, 31 thousandths behind Zarco. fabio quartararo places the first Yamaha in the hierarchy in third position ahead of Marc Marquez who took advantage of the world champion's wheel to set the fourth time overall in the three free practice sessions.

Jack Miller completes the Top 5 ahead of Aleix Espargaro and Takaaki Nakagami. Alex Rins is the first Suzuki representative in eighth place while Pol Espargaro and Enea Bastianini close the list of drivers who will go directly to Q2.
Among the losers of the day, we can cite Jorge Martin, author of 11e chrono, or even Joan Mir, 13e just under seven tenths. In the KTM clan, this French GP promises to be very complicated since no representative of the Austrian firm is in Q2; Brad Binder being the best placed of the four RC16s in 15e position.
See you at 14:10 p.m. for qualifying which will reveal who will start from pole position on Sunday.
