On the Rally Rhône-Charbonnières, Lucas Darmezin has been gaining momentum. Struggling at Le Touquet in what was one of his first rallies since his horrific crash at the 2025 Rallye Mont-Blanc Morzine, the driver competing for Igol used this second round to continue his learning curve. Hyundai i20N Rally2 which he now drives and which he shares with his new co-driver Charlyne Quartini. "Overall, there has been improvement."he mentioned upon arrival of the Rhône-Charbonnières. “First of all, I enjoyed it much more than at Le Touquet, and that’s a crucial point. Compared to the other Hyundais of Hugo Margaillan and Réhane Gany, it’s better, and overall in the rally, the gaps per kilometer aren’t that big. It’s a shame I made two small mistakes in the Meaux-la-Montagne stage…”, admitted the winner of the Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup 2024.
The Hyundai CHL Sport Auto, the benchmark for Lucas Darmezin
Even though he is "a separate group" from the other Hyundai drivers by operating in his own family team, while being contracted by the VIP Enjolras Race team, Lucas Darmezin needs to rely on the performance of the CHL Sport Auto drivers in order to continue to progress with this new car. "The main objective is to match Hugo's performance, as he has more experience in the car than Réhane. So I'm pleased to have been close to him in the final stage."he rejoiced.
