One hundred and seventeen days separate the last special stage from Rally The Var 2025 shakedown of the Le Touquet – Pas-de-Calais Rally takes place this Thursday, marking the start of the French Rally Championship season. As usual, the event is one of the most anticipated of the year, and its entry list, comprising more than 200 crews across all categories, leaves no doubt as to the popularity of this event, so dear to the Touquet Auto Club, the technical organizer.

Last year, Stéphane Lefebvre and Andy Malfoy managed to beat the formidable duo of Bonato and Camilli aboard a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2, and while the driver from Nice is no longer part of the CFR competition, the driver from the North will be back to try and repeat his victory. Unless Yoann Bonato and Benjamin Boulloud, the reigning champions, who still have to work out the teething problems with their new Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale, prevent the former Citroën Racing driver from... WRC to remain a prophet in his own land, as well as the Hyundai by Hugo Margaillan, Réhane Gany, and Lucas Darmezin…

Entertainment at all levels

Although the initial weather forecast predicts rain, the 2 Roues Motatrices crews and the armada of Porsche led by Raphaël Astier, whom Ludovic Godard will try to contain on his Alpine A110 GT+. The Calais rally will also kick off the series of brand-specific championships: SMRC4, SMRC6, Clio Trophy France Asphalt, and Trophy. Alpine The A290 Rallye will be on the program, with even greater interest in the latter. In this regard, its first appearance in a round of the French Rally Championship will not be the only novelty, as it will also be unique in that it will feature only 100% electric cars in the e-Rallye Le Touquet – Pas-de-Calais.

Here too, the stakes are high because the field is of a very high standard. Stellantis will also be welcoming the six male winners of the Rallye Jeunes program for their debut under the national federation's banner. Let's not forget the three Michelin Trophies, which will be held under the same conditions as last year. As for the route, there are no major changes, as it closely resembles those of previous years, with the first day almost identical to that of 2025. The only significant change will be on Saturday, with a first timed section, a first in this format. This opening stage will get the crews ready before they tackle the main event of the northern rally: the nearly 30km-long Special Stage 10-12.
