Touquet Rally – SS11: Bonato narrowly beats Casale

Leader of rally Since SS6, Yoann Bonato, partnered with Benjamin Boulloud, continues to successfully debut his number 1 plate in the first round of the French Asphalt Rally Championship! On the second pass through the Aix-en-Issart – Sempy special stage (13,52 km), the reigning French champion set the fastest time with his Lancia. "No problem, we didn't take any risks. For now, we're doing the job. We'll see in the last one."he explained. Bonato won the special stage by a mere tenth of a second over Julien Casale and Pierre Delorme. The winner of the 2025 Michelin Amateur Trophy continues to impress at this prize rally, and he still holds sixth place in the overall standings.

All smiles at the stop point, Casale continues to enjoy this first outing with the Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 this year: "We're having a blast. With weather like this, when it's dry, it's perfect. Yoann could have let me keep the scratch time."

In the overall standings, Bonatto and Boulloud now have a 25,5-second lead over Hugo Margaillan and Mathieu Coppa, who finished SS11 in fifth place, 3,2 seconds behind the benchmark set by the No. 1 Lancia. Raphaël Astier and Denis Giraudet maintain their positions on the overall podium with their Porsche 992 Rally GT, with a 43,2-second lead over Quentin Gilbert and Christopher Guieu. For Raphaël Astier, the most important thing is to finish: "The conditions are very good here. If we had pushed a little harder, we could have set a better time." The competitors will now head towards the second pass through Hucqueliers – Parenty and its 29,98 km, which will serve as the conclusion to this 2026 edition of the Rallye Le Touquet – Pas-de-Calais.
