Ce Rally Rhône-Charbonnières isn't quite over yet! Raphaël Astier and Denis Giraudet set the fastest time in SS10 (Porsche 992 GT+) gained 4,5 seconds on Yoann Bonato – Benjamin Boulloud (Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale) and are maintaining the pressure with two stages remaining. This morning, on this course in SS7, Astier and Giraudet had already set the fastest time and thus confirmed in this stage that it was well suited to their car. Behind the two crews, Hugo Margaillan – Mathieu Coppa (Hyundai i20N Rally2) set the third fastest time on the special stage, 1,5 seconds behind Yoann Bonato and six seconds off the fastest time on the special stage.

The pleasant surprise of the special stage came from Ghislain Barbier – Yoann Bouchet, fourth, 7,6 seconds off the pace in their Porsche 992 GT+. Réhane Gany – Franck Le Floch (Hyundai i20N Rally2) recorded the fifth-best time on the stage, an improvement on their time this morning on this 11,52-kilometer section. Lucas Darmezin – Charlyne Quartini (Hyundai i20N Rally2) completed the stage standings with the 6th fastest time, 2 seconds behind the previously mentioned CHL Sport Auto crew. Two more special stages remain in this Rhône-Charbonnières Rally, and they are not insignificant, as they are the two longest sections of the day: Meaux-la-Montagne (23,86 kilometers) and Claveisolles (21,02 kilometers). Also of note is the mechanical retirement of Alexandre Villiod – Maëlle Casays (Peugeot 208 Racing), in contention for a podium finish in the Michelin Amateur Trophy.

Well done Mr. Astier/Giraudet, two great drivers! The Porsche should be ahead, logically. No, the Lancia is an excellent product; logic defends the market.
