Rhône-Charbonnières Rally: Results in the support categories

The fight between Raphaël Astier – Denis Giraudet and Yoann Bonato – Benjamin Boulloud logically attracted all the attention at Rally At Rhône-Charbonnières, the competition was fierce at every level. In the Michelin Amateur Trophy, as well as in the F-RC4 group, local driver Anthony Diel and his co-driver Yannis Gosselin emerged victorious in their Renault Clio Rally4, but they still needed a little help from fate to definitively seal their first victory in this ranking. Indeed, Alexandre Villiod and Maëlle Casays (Peugeot The 208 Rally4s had rejoined the rally but were forced to retire due to mechanical failure during Saturday's midday service. Diel and Gosselin are therefore the second winners of the season in the Michelin Amateur Trophy, following Florent Pueyo and Timothée Dinet's victory at Le Touquet.

Valuable points earned in the Michelin Amateur Trophy

The podium in the category was completed at the Rhône-Charbonnières Rally by Sylvain Seray and Mathieu Fouqueray (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VII), who had already finished on the podium (3rd) at Le Touquet and were winners in the Rhône region in the F-RallyNat group, and by Julien Deslauriers and William Lopez (Peugeot 208 Rally4), who were making their first appearance with this new car. In 29th place overall were the winners of the F-RC5 group, Christophe and Barbara Truchet (Renault Clio). The husband-and-wife team had distinguished themselves last year by winning the first edition of the Clio Trophy Full Challenge, a competition combining the Clio Trophy France Gravel and Asphalt series. They had finished 15th in the Clio Trophy France at Le Touquet. Finally, in Group F-RC6, which also included the three Rallye Jeunes female winners, François Dell'Atti and Grégory Poitevin secured victory in their Opel Corsa Racing. This was only Dell'Atti's third rally.
