After a Rally Le Touquet – Pas-de-Calais, which stopped earlier than expected, we imagine you must be happy to have reached the finish of the Rhône-Charbonnières!

Yes, I'm happy. Since we'd barely driven at Le Touquet, it was practically our first rally of the season. So it was positive to reach the finish and complete all the stages. Furthermore, we finished on a high note with Franck (Le Floch, his co-driver. Ed.) by significantly reducing the gaps per kilometer…

On that subject, had you set yourself a specific goal to achieve?

Obviously, I tried to stay as close as possible throughout the rally. At the start, we were around eight-tenths of a second per kilometer, and the gap gradually narrowed to six, then five… On the second leg, we were more like three or four seconds back, so I'm really happy with how the weekend ended. We improved and managed to turn things around.

Last year, you were in contention for the win at Rhône-Charbonnières before making a mistake on what is now known as the "Gany trap". How did it feel to go through it again?

I took it really slowly, maybe a little too slowly (laughs). We saw that Raphaël Astier had a close call there too, so it's confirmed: that corner is definitely a trap. I also saw quite a few videos of cars that went off the road, so we certainly weren't the only ones to fall victim to it…

The next race will be in Antibes, where you achieved your first CFR podium finish last year (2nd). Given that you enjoy this event and that the Hyundai It's going well there, as evidenced by Eric Camilli's victory in 2024, what should we expect from you?

Every rally weekend, we go there aiming for a podium finish. It's true we took second place there last year, although I must say our tire choice on Saturday, in tricky weather conditions, helped. There's potential; we need to work hard to better understand the Hyundai i20N Rally2. With CHL Sport Auto, we'll try to figure out how to move forward.
