They had already distinguished themselves yesterday by winning the qualifying stage, allowing them to open the road: they are now the leaders of the Sierra Morena Rally, the first round of the European Rally Championship in Andalusia (Spain), at the end of the first loop of the day. A strong start for Lucas Zielinski – Ewen Leenhardt, the French in the Top 20
Four French crews are competing in this weekend's event. Among the French drivers, Lucas Zielinski and Ewen Leenhardt are off to a great start. They were already leading the ERC3 class last night after the first special stage, aboard their Renault In the Clio Rally3 category, the two drivers extended their lead this morning and now lead the class by 17,3 seconds. Pierre Ragues and Julien Pesenti (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2) also recovered after a disappointing Super Special Stage last night and climbed back up the standings, just outside the Top 20, as did Tristan Charpentier and Loris Pascaud (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2), who are currently in 16th position. Paul Evrard and Maxime Roulland, in a Lancia Ypsilon Rally4, continue their learning curve in the discipline and the European Rally Championship. Three more stages remain today, the same ones they tackled this morning.
