For several rallies Craig Breen, Malcolm Wilson and Richard Millener found it increasingly difficult to broach the subject of transfers. The rumor placing the Irishman with the team based in Cockermouth (Cumbria) was born during the summer and it has continued to grow. It is now certain, the 31-year-old driver will play with his navigator Paul Nagle for two seasons at the wheel of the Ford Puma hybrid Rally1.

« I am so happy and proud to join M-Sport Ford with Paul by my side, did he declare. It's been a long road for us in the WRC with many twists and turns, but now we will drive for the most prestigious brand in motorsport and fight for the world rally championship. Ford has always been very close to my heart, as my career started with la Fiesta R2 by winning the Junior title, before winning the S2000 World Championship in a Ford Fiesta S2000. Add my name to the list of drivers like Ari Vatanen, Hannu Mikkola, Colin McRae and Carlos Sainz who represented Ford is a bit surreal.

It's a huge privilege. I am touched by the confidence that Malcolm, Richard and everyone at M-Sport have placed in us. I'm really looking forward to going to Place du Casino in Monte-Carlo for the opening round of the championship and making the blue oval proud! »

For Malcolm Wilson, there is no doubt that the Irishman will be an excellent choice for his team. “ I have known and followed Craig's progress for over ten years now, He explains. I've seen him race in a number of M-Sport cars, using our ladder of opportunity to get him to where he is today. His performances this season have not gone unnoticed, delivering superb results with a program that was nevertheless partial. I am very happy to be able to officially announce that it will evolve with us until 2023.

The Puma is a fantastic car and I have no doubt that Craig will deliver success to the team in the years to come. » The Irishman, who has already accumulated 68 World Cup rallies, will compete in all rounds in 2022. However, nothing has yet been revealed regarding Adrien fourmaux or Gus Greensmith.
