Alone in the world, Nicolas Ciamin wins the Rally du Var with big gaps on his pursuers. The Niçois took the lead of the event on Friday evening and never left it again. In total, he won six stages to build on his success, including four on Saturday afternoon. Finishing the Rallye du Var in 2 hours 10'09″9, he was 26 seconds ahead of his main pursuer, Yoann Bonato, and more than 5 minutes behind Pierre Roché, who completed the podium.

“It was a difficult edition, as always on this Rally, comments the Nice resident. The car worked really well, the team worked really well. I hope it goes well for Ludo and JB. I would like to do WRC2 next season.”

The other highlight of this weekend is the coronation of Yoann Bonato, who wins his fourth French Champion title and thus joins Bernard Beguin, who was the only driver to have four successes on asphalt until now. At the wheel of his Citroën C3 rally2, he was crowned on Friday evening, because his main rival Quentin Giordano (Polo GTI R5-Sarrazin Motorsport) was the victim of a road trip in SS3.

" It's awesome, savors Bonato. It’s a big job done by our entire team who have worked hard throughout the season. We obviously have a big thought for our friends who were injured this weekend.”

In the Rally4 category, it was Stéphane Lefebvre (Opel Corsa Rally4) who won ahead of Patrick Magnou. An edition which was marked by numerous off-track events, such as that of Jean-Baptiste Franceschi this Saturday evening or that of Ludovic Gal and his co-driver Geoffrey Combe, transferred to hospital.

In 208 RallyCup, Hugo Margaillan (CHL Sport-Auto) won the title of French Champion thanks to his success in the Var. Romain Di Fante (Renault Clio RSR Rally5) is also crowned champion in the 2-wheel drive category, ahead of Cédric Robert.

Finally, Sarah Rumeau (Peugeot 208) is crowned French Women's Rally Champion for the first time in her career.
