Benjamin Boulloud: "Whatever happens in Var, it will almost be a victory"

Accomplice and friend of Yoann Bonato, the Isérois has made his place among the most capped co-drivers in the French Rally Championship with five titles. The 2024 season, particularly eventful, has strengthened the bonds between the two men, a few days before the final.

Benjamin, can you introduce yourself?

I am 41 years old, I am married to Laëtitia, we are the parents of Marius (9 years old). Since 2017, my professional activity is in motorsport, and in addition I am a ski instructor. I live half of the time in Alpe d'Huez (Isère), the rest near Grenoble (Isère).

How did you get into motorsport?

I met Yoann (Bonato) in ski studies in Villard-de-Lans (Isère). He passed on his passion and his project to me. I started without knowing anything about this environment. But the experience of the sports environment, the teaching we had, served me well. It allowed us to quickly get into the game. "Yo" had it in his blood, we put the energy and the means to get there.

The beginnings came in 2001, with varying degrees of success...

Yoann had started as his father's co-driver, whom he had pestered to drive and buy a car.Smile) As soon as he got his license, he took the wheel. During the first race, we broke the car 300 m from the finish in the rain! We then went from the 205 GTi to a 106 rally N1.

The following year, you attacked the French championship with a class victory at Lyon-Charbonnières. From Limousin, you opted for the Citroën Challenge. Why?
