Warm explanation in Aveyron

Fourth round of the French rally championship after Le Touquet, Lyon-Charbo and Ronde Limousine, the rally du Rouergue which is taking place this weekend was full of entrants, with 187 competitors compared to 110 in 2010! And to quantity is added quality, with several WRC registered, and not the least.

The main attraction in Rodez will be the presence of the Mini John Cooper WRC of Alexandre Bengué (entered outside the championship) which will compete against the Citroën C4 WRC of Dany Snobeck, leader of the general classification and the Subaru Impreza WRC of Eric Brunson ( 2nd, 4 points behind Snobeck). Note that the two men will not be on familiar ground since Snobeck has never driven at Rouergue, while Brunson's experience is limited to one participation, in 2004 in a Clio. The fast local driver Jean-Michel Da Cunha will have a Citroën Xsara WRC this year. In the Michelin Trophy, Twingo R1, R2 Trophies and Volant 207, the field promises intense battles.

In terms of the route, still scheduled over three stages, the Moyrazes special, in its long version as in the 80s, has been brought up to date, like the Comps-la-Granville time trial. Departure this Friday at 15 p.m. for 3 stages (837,43 km for 240,24 km timed over 14 stages). Arrival scheduled for Sunday at 13:06 p.m. for the 1st.
