Five trophies at stake at the Rallye du Var

Le Rally du Var promises lots of suspense, with intense battles for the title in most categories. For the moment, only the French Teams Championship, won by GPC Motosport, and the Clio R3 France Trophy, guaranteed for Éric Mauffrey if the latter starts the event, are played before the Championship final.

The French Drivers' Championship will feature an intense duel between Bryan Bouffier (207 S2000) and Cédric Robert (307 WRC). The two opponents have the same number of points (97 units), but the driver of the 207 S2000 has a slight advantage with three victories against two for the driver of the 307 WRC.

The BF Goodrich Trophy is also uncertain, since five contenders (separated by only five points) are still in the running to compete for the title. Emmanuel Guigou is only one point ahead of Ludovic Gal. Julien Morin and Marc Amourette are both at 22 points, only two points behind Ludovic Gal. Finally, Jean-Sébastien Vigion is the least well placed of the contenders and will have to regain the five lengths behind him on the leader.

The Volant 207 will fight a three-way battle for a place as official driver of the Sochaux manufacturer. “Le Volant will be played between Laurent Reuche who is not an asphalt specialist, Pierre Marché who on the other hand is one, and me,” commented Germain Bonnefis. ?I?m three points behind the first named and seven ahead of the second. Perhaps we will also have to count on the three points awarded to the best performer in the rally? I will do everything to have nothing to regret! »

The Clio R3 European Trophy will be contested between the Dutchman Kevin Abbring, fifth in the 2010 J-WRC, the Frenchman Pierre Campana and the Italian Matteo Gamba. “I will model my race on that of my main opponent, Kevin Abbring,” assured the Frenchman. ?I absolutely have to finish in front of him to win! »

Finally, the Twingo R2 France Trophy will feature an interesting duel between Gaël Jongbloed and Georges Gonon. “This year, I have the chance to play for victory in the Twingo R2 France Trophy with Gaël Jongbloed,” rejoiced Georges Gonon. “The one who finishes in front of the other will win. At least things are clear ! »

The Rallye du Var will be able to count on the presence of Robert Kubica, entered at the wheel of a Clio S1600, Sébastien Ogier aboard a DS3 and Stéphane Sarrazin, on a 207 S2000.

The Pole seems confident, according to his exclusive column in AUTOhebdo. “I love the stages of the Rallye du Var and there will be many other very well driven Clios to compete against. The challenge will be taken up but I'm looking forward to it. This is the first time that I won't have to discover the special stages. »
