Comte takes advantage of Snobeck's abandonment

Ce rally seems to curse the contenders for victory. After the retirement of Eric Brunson (Subaru Impreza WRC) at the start of the event, Dany Snobeck (Citroën C4 WRC) went off the road on SS9 while he had a lead of more than a minute over Frédéric Comte (Peugeot 307 WRC), his closest pursuer.

The Peugeot driver thus regains the lead of the Rallye Mont-Blanc halfway through the stage, with only three stages remaining before the finish line. The new leader is no longer under pressure, Pierre Roche (307 WRC), second in the standings, falling more than a minute behind.

The crews will set off again this afternoon to cover the remaining 51 timed kilometers, which will be spread over three special stages. The start of the Samoens-Morillon special will be at 15:13 p.m.
