Rally – The Clio R3 Trophy launched at Charbo

These are fifteen Renault Clio R3T which will be present on the starting line, with crews displaying youth and experience. Benoit Vaillant, winner of the France zone of the 3 Clio R2015T European Trophy, is to be placed among the favorites but has many rivals.

After a first season in competition on European territory, Clio R3T refocuses with four national trophies (France, ALPS, Italy and Iberia). The French edition will be contested during six of the events of the French Rally Championship, with bonuses per rally upward revisions, and a new final allocation.

Winner of the French zone of the Clio R3T European Trophy last season, Benoit Vaillant has what it takes to place himself among the best, despite increased competition. This is also the case for William Pitot, who is competing in his second season in the Clio R3T and who will want to take advantage of his experience to place himself at the top of the timesheet.

Charles Martin, winner of the Twingo R1 Trophy in 2012, has since traveled the roads of the French Championship and the European Rally Championship, presenting an impressive experience in two-wheel drive. Even if he starts with Clio R3T, the ease of handling of the mount should allow him to place himself among the favorites.

Twice second in the Women's classification of the French Rally Championship, Charlotte Dalmasso, who will join the Women's category of the Trophy, knows the roads taken by the Clio R3T France Trophy well. This is also the case for Rémi Jouines, who has extensive experience in two-wheel drive, after several seasons in promotional formulas.

Several loyalists of the Diamond brand joined the Clio R3T France Trophy, such as Pascal Bérard, who won the 2014 edition of the Renault Sport Challenge in the R3 category, or Jérôme Chavanne, who was one of his rivals in this same challenge and who has extensive experience.

The Junior category of the Clio R3T France Trophy, headlined by Benoit Vaillant, William Pitot and Charles Martin, sees reinforcements from Stéphane Boissy, Kevin van Deijne and Cédric Ferrari. Stéphane Boissy, loyal to Renault since his rallying debut, has extensive experience in the R3 category and has already started learning the Clio R3T in competition. Dutchman Kevin van Deijne has already competed in a Clio R3T for a season – with several category victories – and also has experience in the World Rally Championship. Less experienced, Cédric Ferrari will take part in his second rally in the Clio R3T in the Rhône.

Other drivers are joining the Trophy and will aim for points in the Rhône. After several seasons in Mégane RS and class victories, Philippe Corneau changes his mount by opting for Clio R3T. From the rallycross, Guillaume Bergeon seized the opportunity of the Clio R3T France Trophy to make his debut in the promotional formula. Frédéric Fajolet, who debuted his Clio R3T at Le Touquet last month, is also an outsider. Frédéric Perriat, who knows the R3 category well, will make his first laps with Clio R3T in the Lyon region. As for Damien Tozlanian, he will compete in his second season in the Clio R3T, with several category podiums in the Coupe de France.

After a shakedown on Thursday April 21, the rally will take place over two days, Friday and Saturday. If the winner of the Clio R3T France Trophy event will receive a bonus of €7, the first ten will be rewarded. The first Junior and the first Female will receive a bonus of €000.
