Terres Catalunya: It’s Christmas for Tron

The Spanish lands were favorable to Noël Tron who won a deserved victory since his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo Peugeot 307 WRC by Paul Chieusse despite gear selector problems. After the massacre that befell the contenders, the Volant 207 drivers showed off, notably Frantz Comoli, who won his category by failing to reach the podium less than 40 seconds behind the Lancer Evo IX. by Christian Gazaud when he had chosen to take the joker “ rally plus” allowing him to double his points.

The winner of the Spanish event is enjoying his success after betting big on this weekend. “It's every driver's dream to win, it's my first victory, it's really nice. To ride here, we had to make sacrifices. We wanted to get back into the championship where we feel there is a chance to play. In the back of my mind, I knew that the “Mitsu” would be good, the more technical it is, the more I like it. This allowed me to make the difference and in terms of driving, I really enjoyed myself this weekend. I had everything going for me, a good car, good tires and magnificent special stages…”
