Val d'Agout Rally (N): Julien Casale returns to competition
Julien Casale, winner of the 2025 Michelin Amateur Trophy, made a splash at the Rallye Le Touquet – Pas-de-Calais last March. Having ultimately been unable to participate in the Rallye Rhône-Charbonnières, the young driver will return to the Rallye Val d'Agout in Arnaud Genesca's Škoda Fabia RS Rally2, with Valentin Augé as his co-driver. But the Meca Fontanilles Compétition duo will have their work cut out for them, as Jean-Michel Da Cunha and Bastien Dumas, in the CHL Sport Auto Citroën C3 Rally2, will also be competing. Having finished second last year behind Jordan Berfa, the absence of the 2017 French Gravel Rally Champion logically opens the door for them. We will also have to consider Nicolas Rouillard – Christel Olivet (Citroën DS3 R5), Jérémy Puech – Philippe Curel (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2) or Loïc Grondin – Estelle Latger (Hyundai i20N R5).
Rallye du Pays Gentiane (R): Laurent Lacomy will be aiming for a second victory
Riom-ès-Montagnes, in the Cantal region, will host a total of 73 competitors this Saturday, May 2nd, for the Modern category of the Rallye du Pays Gentiane. Laurent Lacomy, winner of the Rallye du Balcon Est du Vercors earlier this year, will be exceptionally co-driven by Yoann Bouchet, who was seen this year alongside Ghislain Barbier. Driving their Citroën C3 Rally2, they will be aiming for another victory and will face stiff competition from Arnaud Masclaux – Alexandre Moulin (Škoda Fabia R5), Dominique Moulin – Noellie Cayreyre (Citroën C3 Rally02), and Eric Hervé-Grillot – Stéphanie Mathiault (Škoda Fabia R5). The event will cover 37,80 kilometers.
Beaufortain Rally (R): Plenty of quality in Savoie
This Saturday, May 2nd, the Rallye du Beaufortain will also take place, organized, as its name suggests, in Beaufort, Savoie. The field there is of a very high standard and promises a great battle at the front. Michel and Méryl Giraldo will start with the number 1 on the doors of their Škoda Fabia Rally02 Evo, and will be followed by Kévin and Yann Duc in a similar car. Also present will be... Porsche 991 GT+ of Patrice Bonnefond and Séverine Chamiot-Maitral: if the weather conditions are favorable to the crew, they could take advantage of it. Also noteworthy is the presence of Lucas Darmezin – Charlyne Quartini (Peugeot 208 Rally4), who are coming to maintain their rhythm before Antibes in a few days.
Morbihan Rally (R): Arthur Pelamourgues, last-minute guest
Regulars of the Brittany-Pays de la Loire League were certainly expecting to battle it out amongst themselves for the win at the Morbihan Rally, which starts this Saturday evening from Pluherlin. Among them were the Robert family (Škoda Fabia R5), the entire Bordagaray family, and the Mallet brothers, in a... Alpine The A110 GT+ cars were entered hoping to succeed Dorian Deslandes and Léa Pustelnik, last year's winners. But to everyone's surprise, having just returned from the Canary Islands, Arthur Pelamourgues will ultimately be at the starting line in Fun Meca Sport's Hyundai i20N Rally2 to continue learning the car and racking up mileage before the next stage of the Aveyron driver's WRC2 program.
