La Peugeot 208 Racing is no longer the only car that complies with the FR6 regulations of the French Automobile Sports Federation (FFSA). A few months later the presentation of this new category and the model launched by the Lion brand, Renault responds by unveiling the Clio Rally6. After the Rally3, Rally4 and Rally5 versions, the diamond-shaped firm has just completed its range by offering a new, even more accessible iteration. Designed by the teams of Viruses-Châtillon and Dieppe, with the aim of democratising motorsport at reasonable costs without the slightest compromise, the new Renault Clio Rally6 returns to a simple and proven formula, that of kits based on the standard Renault Clio V.

A 20 euro kit for the Clio Rally000

The transition to competition mode is done through a seamless process: customers will first have to purchase an eligible production Clio, namely equipped with a 1,3 L TCe engine developing 140 horsepower and fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox (which is no longer offered new on the official Renault configurator). After this first step, the kit including all the technical and safety elements necessary for the transformation, many of which are from Clio Rally5, will be offered at a price of €19. A safety cage will have to be installed by one of the approved fitters at a price of €999. Once the assembly is complete, the car can be equipped with road-approved tires, thus reducing operating costs. In total, the cost of a Renault Clio Rally2 should be around €640.

The parts making up the Rally6 kit, mostly from the Clio Rally5, have been tested on all terrains and in all conditions in recent seasons, offering real guarantees of the kit's reliability and resistance. Easy to operate and fun, Clio Rally6 allows all driver profiles to experience competition at the best quality/cost ratio on the market. The Clio Rally6 will develop up to 150 horsepower with a torque of 27 m.kg, which is ideal for mastering technical and driving skills in a wide range of disciplines.

Rather than integrating a strict format, the Clio Rally6 will allow its owners to initially line up on the events of their choice, from 2025. This flexibility will give them the opportunity to optimize their calendar according to their availability and their budget, making it the perfect car to play the qualification for the Final of the French Rally Cup for the many amateurs who animate the roots of the sport. In addition, the FR6 regulations are intended to broaden the horizons of Clio Rally6 by extending to circuits, hill climbs and other playgrounds, both in France and in the countries where national federations wish to integrate this new vehicle.

Its homologation is expected soon. Once this stage is passed, any crew wishing to compete with the Clio Rally6 to do so in the FR6 class. In the meantime, the FR6 Trophy is reserved for Peugeot .
