This Tuesday, May 05th, a few hours before the kick-off of the Rally From Portugal, the organizers of Rally Japan have unveiled the entry list for their event, which will take place from May 28th to 31st. With 36 crews last year, the list is reduced this year to 32 cars, including 10 Rally1 entries and the presence of the reigning World Champions and winners of the previous edition. Sébastien Ogier and Vincent Landais. Competing in Portugal this week and winners two weeks ago in the Canary Islands, the French duo could take advantage of this run of races to put themselves back in contention for the world title. There are few surprises in this list, as the usual contenders in the premier category will all be present and joined by Hayden Paddon – John Kennard (Hyundai i20N Rally1), who will be competing in their third rally of the year. As a reminder, they finished 3rd in the Rally Croatia at the beginning of April.

Rally Japan: Nikolay Gryazin favorite in WRC2, Ghjuvanni Rossi for victory in WRC3

Eleven crews have also registered for the WRC2 round, to which we should add Romet Jürgenson and Siim Oja (Ford Fiesta Rally2), who are entered solely in RC2. The main news from this list comes from the presence of Nikolay Gryazin – Konstantin Aleksandrov (Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale), who will therefore have the opportunity to score significant points in the Land of the Rising Sun. However, they will have to contend with Alejandro Cachón – Borja Rozada (Toyota GR Yaris Rally2), to Emil Lindholm – Gabriel Morales (Skoda Fabia RS Rally2) or to Diego Domínguez – Rogelio Peñate (Toyota GR Yaris Rally2). Several Japanese crews will also be competing. Finally, in WRC3, the French Ghjuvanni Rossi and Kylian Sarmezan will be making the trip and will face two other crews entered in this category.
