Adrien Fourmaux will drive the Fiesta WRC in 2021

The transition from 2020 to 2021 will definitely have been favorable to French pilots in WRC.

Aligned last year by Malcolm Wilson's structure in WRC 2, but also in ERC, the northerner (26 years old in May) was able to meet expectations. In two years and 14 rallies at the highest level of the discipline (including 3 in Rally4), the former medical student has established himself as a solid hope on which the English boss has decided to bet.

Winner in the Canaries in ERC and regular candidate for the podium in WRC 2, Fourmaux said he was ready to repeat his career in this category in order to further increase his experience. Having also discovered the Fiesta Rally1 during his victory at the San Marino Rallylegend, Adrien hoped to have the opportunity to drive it again.

His expectations will be completely met since he will aim for both the WRC 2 title, i.e. at least 7 rallies, but will also be lined up for several rounds with Rally1 alternating with Teemu Suninen who should only have a partial program. , while changing co-drivers, after the end of his collaboration with Jarmo Lehtinen.

« This is a fantastic new opportunity for us, rejoices Fourmaux. I would like to thank Malcolm Wilson, Richard Millener and the whole team and I plan to make the most of all the experience I am about to gain. We came very close to victory on several occasions last year in WRC 2 and we believe we have everything we need to succeed in 2021. I'm also looking forward to doing some outings with the Rally1. »

The confirmation of the presence of M-Sport is important for the WRC, since three teams will compete in the premier category. Three French drivers will also be involved at the highest level, which is obviously excellent news.

Full season for Gus Greensmith

The English driver, who has just turned 24, will be the only one at M-Sport to have a full program in 2021. Having already competed in 9 races in 2 years at the wheel of the most advanced Fiesta, the former goalkeeper goal in the youth teams of Manchester City will seek to improve their best ranking obtained in Turkey last year (5th).
