Adrien Fourmaux winner of the Jännerrallye

Disputed around the town of Freistadt (220 km northwest of Vienna) in the Mühlviertel region in Upper Austria, the rally took place on wet roads often stained with mud after the passage of a few cars.

At the start of the last day, Adrien fourmaux was 7s8 ahead of his closest opponent. 61,60 km timed were still on the program through 6 SS. Author of 3 new best times, Fourmaux managed to increase the gap to 14s4. He then only had to control the end of the race, winning with a margin of 9s6 over Simon Wagner. The reigning double Austrian champion was the most virulent opponent and the first representative of a group of 6 Skoda Fabia Rally2, RS or Evo.

With this 4e success of his career, Fourmaux is also the first Frenchman to register his name on the list of winners of this event. The course of the event was an excellent launch to its 2023 season, after a difficult 2022. “ I'm really happy with our race, he rejoiced. It was not an easy rally. The roads were both very fast and very slippery. This mix was interesting in anticipation of Monte-Carlo. For Alex and I, it was important to get back on track with the Fiesta Rally2 which I had not used since June. With less power and necessarily reduced aero downforce compared to the Rally1, the handling is very different from that of the Puma. It’s a good start to our season. It’s very good for confidence. »

L’équipage M-Sport can now start ticking off the days until Monte-Carlo (January 19-22).
