It is a performance that will be highlighted when we look back on the long and rich career of Sébastien Ogier. By winning his 9th Rally Monte Carlo in WRC – the 10th overall – the Gapençais became the most victorious driver in the inaugural event of the year, erasing Sébastien's 8 successes from the records Loeb.

The Alsatian, a nine-time winner in Germany and Catalonia, also held the record for the most wins in a race, before being joined by another Sébastien this Sunday. The driver Toyota took his 62nd WRC victory to start the season perfectly with a full championship points. The 33 points won by the eight-time world rally champion are much more important for his team than for him personally. The Gapençais is once again engaged in a partial programme this year with Toyota. Worn out and tired by the demanding pace of the world rally championship, Sébastien Ogier has decided since 2022 to only drive on certain rallies.
Sébastien Ogier absent in Sweden
The Tricolore remains one of the best in the world and his stints are often crowned with success, like last year when he won 3 of the 9 rallies he contested. This season, his program is not yet defined, but he should participate in fewer rounds after having increased his program at the end of last season to help Toyota retain its constructors' title and to try to steal the world crown from Thierry Neuville (Hyundai), without success.

Sébastien Ogier will not be at the start of the next round in Sweden (February 14-16), where he will leave it to Elfyn Evans, his teammate and runner-up in the Monte-Carl', to open the road. The Frenchman should return to Kenya (March 21-23) for the third round of the year, which he won twice in 2021 and 2023. Rally Sweden will not be without interest, despite the absence of Sébastien Ogier: no fewer than 12 Rally1s will be lined up, including five Toyotas driven by the usual holders Kalle Rovanperä, Elfyn Evans, Takamoto Kvtsuta and Sami Pajari, in addition to a private Yaris entered by Lorenzo Bertelli. At Hyundai, Thierry Neuville, Ott Tänak et Adrien fourmaux all three will be present, while M-Sport will arrive with four cars. In addition to Grégoire Muster and Joshua McErlean, Martins Sesks and Jourdan Serderidis will take the start.

We should know if he wants to stop or not, he prevents someone else from winning the Monte Carlo, or he continues where he stops.
