Armindo Araujo wants to enter WRC

After winning the 2009 P-WRC, the Mitsubishi Ralliart Italia driver repeated his feat this season by winning the 2010 title. By signing three victories and finishing each event contested on the podium (six entries allowed), the Portuguese beat the Swede Patrick Flodin by 26 points for his ?secure first place in the Championship.

If Armindo Araujo has already driven a World Rally Car (at Rally of Portugal 2007), he is now looking for a full-time drive for the 2011 WRC season. “The objective is to do all the events but it obviously depends on the budget,” announced the Champion on wrc.com. “If I can't do them all, I'll do as many as I can. »

The Portuguese would be likely to drive a Mini Countryman WRC at the next Rally of Portugal. But above all he is looking for a complete program for the 2011 season. “Obviously, we are all working a lot and we are not only discussing with Mini but with all the manufacturers. I think we will have something, but nothing has been signed yet. »

Armindo Araujo can count on his main sponsor, the telephone operator TMN, who will follow the career of the 2010 P-WRC Champion next year. But the Portuguese will need more money to finance a full season. However, things seem to be moving in the right direction. “All my sponsors remain and we also have new ones,” he added.
