Ultimately, the opener position did not prevent Elfyn Evans from fighting at the forefront. Far from it! On the snow of Rally from Sweden, the Welshman was a real customer, from start to finish. As a fine strategist, the 2024 vice-champion held his own against his rivals on Friday before confirming Saturday with the provisional first place. In a back-and-forth that notably pitted him against his teammate Takamoto Katsuta, the driver Toyota reached his goal on Sunday by securing his first victory of the season.
In total, Elfyn Evans has therefore collected 35 points (the highest possible total) and logically leads the Drivers' ranking. WRC 2025 at the end of this second round, taking advantage in particular of the absence of Sébastien Ogier. 28 points now separate the two men. Adrien fourmaux is the big loser of this Rally of Sweden since he fell from 3rd to 7th place! Having made a mistake on Saturday, the Northerner could do no better than a small point collected during the Power Stage.
In the Constructors' Championship, Toyota takes the lead against Hyundai. Thanks to the double of Elfyn Evans and Takamoto Katsuta, the Japanese team now has 121 points. This already gives it a fairly comfortable lead over its South Korean rivals, relegated to 48 lengths. Finally, M-Sport stays at a distance with 25 units.
