At M-Sport, everyone behind Fourmaux

With two small points on the clock in already five events (four retirements), the Frenchman is not in his best form. But before embarking on a crucial meeting in Kenya, Adrien fourmaux can still count on its partners M-Sport, Craig Breen and Pierre-Louis Loubet, both authors of good results recently.

“People have no idea the pressure we are under”

In search of confidence and above all points in recent weeks, Adrien Fourmaux was on the verge of having a nice weekend in Sardinia. And yet, during the last special stage on Saturday, the Frenchman made a mistake, on “a jump in concentration” as he himself explained later. The M-Sport driver was however on the verge of a more than welcome top 5, after his disappointments in Monte-Carle and in Croatia in particular.

Despite this incident, Breen and Loubet, for their part, obtained good results, finishing second and fourth respectively in the Rally from Sardinia.

“It’s difficult for me to comment, obviously, explained the Irishman. But of course, I'm sorry about Adrien. I feel sorry for him and Alex [Coria, his co-pilot]. This is not a pleasant position to be in.

I know he's trying to do his best, doing everything he can. I've seen it myself when I've had tough times, social media takes up more space. People have no idea the pressure we are under. We are trying to perform at this level and mistakes can happen so easily, especially on a rally like this. He will come back. »

Same story for his compatriot, Pierre-Louis Loubet. It must be said that the Frenchman knows what his teammate is going through, after having experienced a long period of scarcity between 2020 and 2021 with Hyundai – only 2 rallies concluded in the points out of 11 possible.

“I know how hard he works and I think it's a difficult time for him, but there's not much to say, he notes laconically. It's a difficult situation and I hope he can get through it. »

While the Safari Rally is fast approaching (June 23-26), the British team is still counting on the 27-year-old from the North to get back on track, aboard the Puma hybrid. The season isn't even halfway through yet. It has also entered no less than five cars for the Kenyan event and intends to score big points at the end of the weekend.

M-Sport will therefore be able to count on Adrien Fourmaux, but also Craig Breen, Gus Greensmith, the Greek Jourdan Serderidis and on the legend of WRC, Sebastian Loeb, winner of the first rally of the season in Monte-Carle. It promises…
