Second in the Acropolis Rally, Sébastien Ogier could do nothing "against Ott's pace"

A second place and a lot of satisfaction. Sunday, at the finish of the Rally of the Acropolis, won by Ott Tänak, Sébastien Ogier was smiling broadly. The Frenchman, second in the Greek event, came out on the losing end of his battle against the Estonian this weekend. A battle that certainly didn't last long, as the driver Hyundai was dominant, managing his pace and the elements perfectly.

The Frenchman, for his part, earned a fifth podium finish in Greece (three wins and two second places) in five rallies this season. The icing on the cake was his second place in the Drivers' standings behind his teammate Elfyn Evans. This was largely thanks to an excellent Sunday. In addition to the 17 points for second place, he also took the five points for the Power Stage and the five points awarded to the best driver on Super Sunday.

"It was another very good weekend for us. Taking 27 points is the maximum we could have hoped for this weekend, so we can be very satisfied.", says Sébastien Ogier.

Ogier did the job before a long break

The eight-time world champion also showed great fairness towards Ott Tänak: "There wasn't much we could do against Ott's pace, especially considering the difference in starting positions, so congratulations to him for this well-deserved victory."

The pilot Toyota also don't forget to have a word for his team, ultra-dominant in 2025. "We have reached the halfway point of the season and we are still firmly in the lead of the constructors' championship. Thanks to the team for their constant efforts. Let's keep it up for the second half of the season.", concludes Sébastien Ogier.

It remains to be seen whether this setback in Greece, after the Japanese team had won the first six rounds of the season, will have an impact on the upcoming races. Given that the Gapençais rider will be absent almost all summer since he has a partial program...
