Dani Sordo was the best awake to tackle these first two stages of the morning! The Spaniard signed a double and climbs to third place in the general classification, 1″6 ahead of Sébastien Ogier. The first special of the morning was won by Dani Sordo (5'05″5) ahead of Thierry Neuville (+0″7) and Elfyn Evans (1″4). The Belgian, already leader with a comfortable lead overall, set the second fastest time in SS15, once again behind his teammate at Hyundai (10'04″3 for the Spaniard, with +0″2 behind for the Belgian and a gap of 1″1 on Sébastien Ogier).
The seven-time world champion set the 4th fastest time during SS14 which took place during the night. “I didn't really feel confident. I couldn't see very well and had a little trouble here. There's not much more I can do at the moment. The car is not bad at all but the gaps are very small. But it’s not over yet.”
On the podium, Thierry Neuville is still in the lead and heading towards new success in Catalonia for the second edition in a row. Elfyn Evans maintains her second position while Sébastien Ogier drops to the foot of the podium, behind Dani Sordo. If the first two places of this Rally of Catalonia seem already decided, the battle for the last step of the podium should fuel this last day. Behind, no change can be reported in the general classification.
