Le Rally The Canary Islands, comparable to a circuit due to the absence of ropes, began under the sign of power for ToyotaOn the Santa Brígida course, Oliver Solberg set the fastest time, confirming his current form ahead of championship leader Takamoto Katsuta and Sébastien Ogierwho made a remarkable return to the Spanish asphalt. A strong signal sent to the competition even before the start of the timed competition.

The first special stage, held inside the Gran Canaria stadium before a roaring crowd, confirmed the trend. Takamoto Katsuta took the overall win, continuing his momentum after recent successes. 22:04 – 💬 Takamoto Katsuta: "At least something positive happened today. I had a lot of difficulties, but it's a good way to end the day with so many fans." Adrien fourmaux : "I struggled a bit in the first corner, with a lot of oversteer! It was a great atmosphere with all the fans tonight, it's different from rally stages but it's really fun."

22h03 - And we finish with a tie at the top of the special stage! Katsuta sets the same time as Pajari, while Fourmaux finishes third, only three tenths behind.

22h02 - That concludes the Rally1 series, Takamoto Katsuta versus Adrien Fourmaux!

22:01 – 💬 Giovanni Trentin: "I tried my best, I wanted to win the special stage in WRC2, and for now I'm leading the special stage in the category!" Alejandro Cachón: “I don’t really like these kinds of stages; it’s very easy to make a mistake. I prefer to be able to attack hard on the normal stages rather than in these conditions. Tomorrow will be a new day; the rally is still long, and we’ll see if we can catch Yohan Rossel.”

22h - Seventh fastest time for Trentin, 13th for Cachón, who remains second overall in WRC2.

21h57 - Sami Pajari takes advantage to regain third place in the general classification, half a second ahead of Evans! Now it's Giovanni Trentin and Alejandro Cachón's turn to start.

21:57 – 💬 Thierry Neuville : "It's very technical and the only thing we're trying to avoid is touching the concrete blocks! We're trying to get as close as possible, but not too close." Elfyn Evans: "I'm not thrilled with today; we wanted a bit more, but Oliver and Sébastien were faster. I hope we can improve things tomorrow."

21h56 - Third fastest time for Neuville, eight tenths ahead of Evans, who is sixth.

21h50 - Diego Domínguez and Emil Lindholm are now back.

21:49 – 💬 Josh McErlean: "It was important to have a clean Friday, it's been a long time! We had a good battle with Jon today, it's pretty much the only race we can do. I hope we can continue like this this weekend." Oliver Solberg: "I didn't have a good first lap at all; there was a lot more grip than I expected. It's easy to make a mistake or stall, so I'm glad I avoided anything."

21h48 - Third fastest time on the stage for Solberg, who lost three-tenths of a second to Sébastien Ogier. The Frenchman finishes the day 8,9 seconds ahead of the Swede. McErlean sets the eighth fastest time provisionally.

21h44 - Camilli finished two seconds faster than Pelamourgues, setting the eighth and ninth provisional times.

21h41 - A new all-French battle, with Arthur Pelamourgues against Éric Camilli!

21:40 – 💬 Sébastien Ogier: "It was a good day! It was a little strange seeing Jon right in front of me, but he sportingly let me pass so as not to bother me." Jon Armstrong: “It wasn’t our day. We broke something on the rear transmission on the way to the stage, so we only had one wheel drive in the end, and that means a lot of power has to go to the front wheels. It’s the kind of day that tests your character, but you have to get through it.”

21h39 - Struggling with significant understeer, Armstrong sportingly let Ogier pass to avoid costing him time. The Frenchman set the second fastest time on the stage, eight-tenths of a second behind Pajari, while Armstrong conceded 22,1 seconds.

21h38 - Jon Armstrong and Sébastien Ogier are now on track!

21:38 – 💬 Léo Rossel: "It's really fun, honestly! He got his revenge after yesterday! It's really great for the fans and for the rally to have this super special stage. 21:25 p.m. – 🟢 Robert Virves and Roberto Daprà are the first to set off with their Skoda Rally2!
