Esapekka Lappi at the start of the Estonian Rally

The platoon of Rally of Estonia (July 12-14) is further strengthened with the confirmation of the presence of Esapekka Lappi and his co-driver Janne Ferm, on their Citroën C3 WRC.

Like before announced by the organizers, and in collaboration with the WRC promoter, each manufacturer involved on the world stage will be authorized to enter an official car in the Baltic event, in order to best prepare for the Rally of Finland, contested at the end of July.

L’an passé, Citroën, Hyundai et Toyota avaient pris part à la course, et d’autres annonces sont logiquement attendues dans les prochaines semaines. “Rally Finland is obviously very important to me, declares Lappi, forced to retire last weekend in Argentina.

I am happy to be able to take advantage of this additional opportunity to ride in order to arrive in Finland as prepared as possible, and because the Estonian stages have many similarities with those in the Jyväskylä region. »

“We received a particularly warm welcome when we came here last year, recalls Pierre Budar, director of Citroën Racing. The “real world” conditions of this test gallop were a big help, as they contributed greatly to the second place we achieved in Finland.

It is now with this same objective that we return with Esapekka in order to prepare him as much as possible for the WRC round on his land and also to obtain data which will be beneficial for Sébastien. »

Citroën Racing continued its series of podiums in Argentina yesterday, with third place taken at the very end of the race by Sébastien Ogier.
