Grégoire Munster: “A childhood dream will come true”

This week, you will compete in Rally Chile at the wheel of a Ford Puma Rally1 Hybrid. Have you tested it?

Yes. On September 18, Louis (Louka. Editor's note) and I were invited to a session based on tests of M-Sport. We traveled almost 200 km on land.

What are your first impressions ?

Getting started was not overly difficult. But driving this kind of car at the limit is something else, obviously. There are so many differences compared to a Rally2. The distribution of masses, particularly with more inertia at the rear, requires another approach. Of course, we also go through curves much faster, thanks to the power but also because of the aero.

Are you going to have to change your note-taking method?

No, not fundamentally. But it will still be necessary to simplify so that my teammate and I can understand each other.

Via the on-board cameras, did you have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the course?

The videos offered by the organizer are not of good quality. The camera angle is too wide. It feels like the corners are barely turning. In agreement with Louis, we decided not to take notes from home. We will do this work during the official recognitions.

What will be your objective in this event?

Take maximum pleasure. Thanks to Jourdan Serderidis, owner of the car, I will realize a childhood dream. We will therefore try to cover as many kilometers as possible to take advantage of this exceptional gift. Of course, we will try to progress along the way. But we want to avoid making a mistake on Friday so as not to have to open the road the next day. It must be understood that this rally in Chile, then the Central Europe Rally (October 26-29. Editor's note) that we will compete on the Puma Rally1, will constitute a unique experience. Next year, we will start again in Rally2.
