Le WRC will experience a significant change this year with the introduction of hybrid technology. History will record that it is Hyundai Motorsport which was the first to present its car for the 2022 season. For decoration, the i20 N Rally1 uses the colors of the previous models with a mixture of sky blue and orange. The only fantasy appears on the doors with patterns perhaps evoking hybridization? The general shape of the car is also quite close to what the Korean manufacturer fielded last year when the WRC was only equipped with a thermal engine.

The biggest visual difference is in the aerodynamic kit which has been legally reduced. The front is refined and the rear wing is less imposing than before. Also regarding the crews there are no surprises. Thierry Neuville/Martijn Wydaeghe and Ott Tänak/Martin Järveoja will compete in the entire heats while Dani Sordo/Candido Carrera and Oliver Solberg/Elliott Edmondson will share the 3rde flying. “ We are excited to help usher in the hybrid era, said Scott Noh, president of Hyundai Motorsport. We are confident that we have the best assets to fight for a 3e title of manufacturers' world champion and allow our crews to aim for that of the drivers and co-drivers. »
