The Frenchman simply dominated this last day of the rally, thus gaining twelve points, the seven from the Sunday classification and the five from the Power Stage. Ogier had to fight until the end against Rovanperä in the last special, beating the Finn by a tenth of a second. Rovanperä won the rally with a 23″4 advantage over Evans, after a Sunday controlled from start to finish, which saw him set the second fastest time of the day.

Like this Saturday, the four special stages on the programme were contested in difficult weather conditions, with a lot of mud in the first passages, and persistent fog in Bio Bio 1. The fog lifted somewhat during the second passage in this section, which also served as a Power Stage. Third in the rally, Ott Tänak (Hyundai) takes a total of five points from his teammate Thierry Neuville, fourth and still leader of the world championship, with a 29-point lead.

Not everything has been optimal for the South Korean brand, which regularly struggles against Toyota on slippery surfaces as seen this weekend in Chile. Esapekka Lappi was forced to retire at the end of the penultimate special stage, thus losing a chance to score some points this Sunday. Hyundai thus sees Toyota close to 17 points in the constructors' championship, two rallies from the end of the season. On his Ford Puma M-Sport, Martins Sesks was luckier than the Finn as he lost his rear wing on the penultimate stage, but he was able to reach the finish.

Solid on a Sunday day that he likes this season, Adrien fourmaux (M-Sport Ford) finished the rally in fifth place. In WRC2, victory went to Yohan Rossel (Citroën), which allowed his team DG Sport Compétition to take the world crown. Oliver Solberg (Skoda), who could have won the title if he won this weekend, had to settle for fourth place overall, and will have to watch Rossel and Pajari try to take the crown from him in the next two rallies, with the Swede unable to score any more points, having already contested his seven rallies counting towards the championship. Paraguayan Diego Dominguez won the world title in WRC3 with another victory this season.
