Kimi Räikkönen “impatient”

Kimi Räikkönen has officially turned the page Formula 1. Two weeks ago, after learning of Jenson Button's signing to McLaren-Mercedes, the Finn, seeing his last track in F1 disappear, then announced his desire to take a sabbatical, far from Formula 1. Now driver of the Citroën Junior Team in WRC for 2010, Iceman even leaves himself the possibility of playing more than one season in Rally. " For now we have concluded a one year agreement and we will decide later whether it continues or not ", says Kimi.

But, before thinking about post-2010 and a possible return to F1, the Finn admits that his desire to discover the WRC, after having tasted it last summer in Finland, was very strong. “ I have always had the desire to race in this discipline, and more particularly in the World Championship, at one point or another in my career., confirms Kimi. Thanks to Red Bull, I have the opportunity to drive the Citroën C4, the best car on the grid. It's a new challenge for me but it's also very exciting. »

Having reached the agreement with Citroën and Red Bull this week, Räikkönen admits that he wants to discover his new mount. “ I'm really looking forward to getting into the seat of the C4 and above all I'm looking forward to the first rally. » The Finn will have to wait until February 10 for the start of his collaboration with Citroën in the WRC, with the Swedish Rally. Until then, Iceman will have the opportunity to try the C4 in private tests, and could participate in a winter rally to prepare for his arrival in the big leagues.
