Kubica hesitates between GT – Touring and rallying

Robert Kubica confirmed during the press conference of Rally of the Var that he now had little chance to return to F1. The Pole, injured in a terrible accident last year, has only regained partial use of his arm and is still continuing his rehabilitation phase and had already admitted at the Rally di Como that he was not yet able to get back behind the wheel of a car. The former F1 driver therefore spoke of continuing his career with closed cars and seems to be hesitating between a career in GT or touring and rallying, which he still loves as much.

The prospect of racing in GT and/or touring would allow him to maintain his experience and talents on the circuit. The GT disciplines offer the advantage of offering many seats behind the wheel while tourism seems ready to take on new momentum, notably with the prospects offered by the possible arrival of Citroën in the WTCC. The Pole believes that he could immediately be competitive and go for victory quickly. However, it also considers a future in rally with a full-time commitment. This choice would then require him to show more patience since he believes he needs two or three seasons of learning before being able to race to the forefront.
