Latvala plans to continue its series at home

If Jari-Matti Latvala has only won one victory this year in Mexico, the Volkswagen driver is preparing for an important meeting with the Rally of Finland played from Thursday July 28 to Sunday July 31. The Nordic pilot has won his national event three times and has two successes in a row. These results can make him optimistic, especially since he should benefit from a good position on the road if the weather remains dry.

“Rally Finland is clearly a highlight of the season for me, explains Jari-Matti Latvala. I always look forward to competing in it, even though the pressure is greater than in another event. It can also serve as motivation because you always want to do well in front of your spectators. The expectations of the Finnish fans are high, especially because I have only won once this year."

“The characteristics of this rally suit me. Fast dirt roads and big jumps, that's all I love, continues the Finn. The main point of this test is to ensure that the notes are correct and to choose the right trajectory for the jumps and fast sections. »

With three victories, Jari-Matti Latvala has already equaled Sébastien's record Loeb and Juha Kankkunen. In the event of another success, the Volkswagen driver would be two victories behind Marrku Alén and three successes from the absolute record held by Marcus Grönholm.

The Rally Finland will be followed live with our live text.
