The Citroën Junior Team has made a name for itself

If the main attraction of Rally of Great Britain was the duel between Sébastien Loeb and Mikko Hirvonen for the world title, another driver was expected on the Welsh roads in the person of Petter Solberg.

The four-time winner of the event took part in Rally GB with the Citroën Junior team after having discovered the C4 in Catalonia in its structure. The Norwegian, who competed almost the entire season with a team in his name, managed to take fourth place for his second rally in this car. “ I'm really happy with the end result. The Citroën C4 WRC is a great car. We made a lot of progress throughout the rally. I gave everything to beat Sordo but it was difficult. »

Alongside Solberg, Rautenbach is the other ?Junior? driver. to have finished in the points by taking eighth position. “ We are very proud of Conrad Rautenbach's race », explained Benoit Nogier, the team director. “ He has progressed a lot over the last two years and he is looking for a point at the end of a very difficult rally. »

For the first year of existence of the Citroën Junior Team, Nogier was also very satisfied with the performance of his men and in particular that of Sébastien Ogier. If the Gapençais did not finish in Wales, he impressed throughout the year in his first season in the WRC.

« Only Sébastien Ogier is missing but we are not going to blame him after everything he has shown this season. This is neither a pilot error nor a note error. It?s just a trap in very difficult conditions. Sébastien and Julien [Ingrassia] showed their abilities again and we congratulate them on their season. We want to continue this adventure on the basis of what was done this year. We want to continue working with Sébastien, and with other pilots, it is up to us to do everything we can to continue », he concluded.
