Mexico is looking for Rally drivers

After several years of thinking about how to unite around the passion surrounding the Mexico rally, the organizers decided, in 2022, to set up training that would guide young people. The road will be long, but through the Rally Camp, a foundation stone has already been laid.

Silence gradually settled in the ranks of the 2023 promotion of the Rally Camp which took place in León during the rally from Mexico (March 16-19). Francisco “Pancho” Name, who races a Subaru in the Mexican championship, spoke in front of a screen that read: “What is a rally? » Of varying ages and backgrounds, the nine young people present had in common that they wanted to become a rally driver.

In the form of a reality show

The idea of organizing this training came up a year and a half ago. “I have been in the Mexico Rally environment since its first edition in 2004,” explains Kurt Richter, who manages this project. The latter raced in rallying, as a co-driver in the Dakar or recently in the Carrera Panamericana. He therefore has a good knowledge
