Arctic Rally route revealed

Called to the rescue to replace Sweden, the Arctic Rally (Finland) will serve as the snowy event this season. In Rovaniemi, very close to the Arctic Circle, extreme conditions await the competitors.

This first Arctic Rally in the history of the World Rally Championship will take place over three days (Friday to Sunday) and will consist of five special stages that the drivers will complete twice. In total, 251,08 timed kilometers will enliven this second round of the season. All under temperatures between -6°C and 14°C and down to -20°C, covered Sami landscapes and times in the Finnish darkness.

After the Shakedown, the Arctic Rally will begin on Friday February 26 with a double pass on the Sarriojärvi special stage (31,05 km).

No less than six special stages are on the program for the second day of racing, the longest of the weekend. The pilots will negotiate Mustalampi (24,43 km), Kaihuavaara (19,91 km) and Siikakämä (27,68 km) twice, with the highlight of the show being a night passage over the last city.

The Arctic Rally will end on Sunday with the double visit to Aittajärvi (22,47 km), south of Rovaniemi. The second passage will serve as the Power Stage.

The conditions will be so extreme that each car will have to be equipped with a survival kit including two shovels and warm clothing to protect the crew in the event of a stop on a stage. It promises.
