For the fifth consecutive season, the WRC will travel to Africa to compete in the Safari Rally Kenya. As in 2024, the Kenyan event will take place in March (March 20-23) and no longer in June as it did when it returned to the calendar in 2021 and until 2023. A change that allowed it to return to the dates it occupied before 2000.

This year, a field of 39 cars is expected for the 73rd edition. Sébastien Ogier, winner of the 10th Monte-Carlo of his career last January, will not be part of the game. His return is expected for the Rally Portugal (May 15-18). Thus, 10 Rally1s will be at the start of this 2025 Kenya Rally. A similar line-up to that of Sweden with the exception of Martins Sesks, since the event is not on the program for his season.

Among the headliners, Toyota will be able to rely on championship leader Elfyn Evans, Kalle Rovanperä, Takamoto Katsuta and the young Sami Pajari. For his part, Hyundai will continue with the trio Thierry Neuville - Ott Tänak - Adrien fourmaux. At last, M-Sport will arrive in Africa with Grégoire Munster, Josh McErlean and Jourdan Serdiridis. In WRC2, Oliver Solberg is once again competing in Rally Kenya with the ambition of winning it, having finished second in 2024. The Swede will be able to benefit from less fierce competition, as many rivals have decided to skip the event.
