All the teams present in the World Rally Championship have particular philosophies for managing their squads. Since Toyota's official return in 2017, several sequences, including one recently, have been rather confusing for a team operating at this level.

After the euphoria of the good news of the arrival of Toyota en WRC in 2017, the surprise came from the duo chosen to drive the Yaris. With Jari-Matti Latvala and Juho Hänninen, the trend was immediately set by this structure installed in Finland with a boss (Tommi Mäkinen) and Finnish mechanics.
