The favorite French drivers of WRC2 in Ypres

The list of starters is not as shiny as in certain rounds since some important candidates are missing like Emil Lindholm or Teemu Suninen, two of Finland's main leaders. The tray is however sufficiently stocked for this 9e sleeve turns out to be indecisive. Absent since Sardinia in June, Yohan Rossel is making his return and the 3 WRC2021 world champion has the firm intention of fighting for the podium. Seeking to close the gap on Andreas Mikkelsen who leads the category, the PH-Sport driver will rely on the good sensations he has always experienced on this particular terrain. Winner last year in WRC3 having dominated the locals, Rossel must be considered a candidate for first place. For this, he will undoubtedly have to battle with Stéphane Lefebvre.

Also driving a Citroën, the northerner is currently first in the Belgian championship, which confirms his skill on this type of special. If the French are favored by the forecasts, we must not neglect the role that the WRC2 leader will play. With his Fabia from the Toksport team, the Norwegian has the local experience to disrupt the ambitions of the two roosters. More uncertain will be the performances of Marco Bulacia, Jari Huttunen or Chris Ingram. The other unknown concerns the Belgian pilots. Will Davy Vanneste (C3), Sébastien Bedoret (Fabia), Vincent Verschueren (Polo) or the veteran multiple winner in Ypres Freddy Loix manage to join the fight?
